sickness, baby showers, a late Christmas, and birthdays

This past week Ella Kate has been sick. She missed three days of school and KK's baby shower! It was so sad. She had been looking forward to it soooo much! Kk is doing great as is baby girl Covey! (of course JC is awesome also)   Friday Emma Klaire and I got to see them for a short time. Saturday we went to Aunt Bobbie's for KK's baby shower. Emma Klaire wanted to know if Aunt Bobby had a shower and if we were going to get into it. HA!!! So cute. The shower was a success...pictures below.

After the shower we went to Nana's for Christmas. A late Christmas, but Christmas nevertheless. (IS that a word?) We also celebrated Ella Kate's and Kk's birthday. Pictures below.

Sunday we stayed home to make sure Ella Kate continued to not run fever ....after lunch at Pepaw's and Memaw's ....Nana, KK, and JC came to visit.


I still haven't put pictures up of Pepaw's and Memaw's Christmas...one day soon I hope.

Valentine's Day 2002

I so wish I had all of Ella Kate's many 1,000s of pictures on my computer. Maybe one day I can get them scanned in. These are a couple of pages from her scrapbook (that is still incomplete). I don't think you can really tell how small she was. Here she was already over two months old. :)

  
              I can't believe that you are nine years old today. You are such a wonderful, sweet girl. I am so glad you are mine! Soon I hope to write on the blog your birth story. You came into this world so small.  2 lbs 14 ozs . 15 inches long. You have come so far.
              My wish is for you to love God, love others, and be proud of who you are. Thank you for being my sunshine!!!! Remember that I will always love you no matter what.
             You are in third grade, and you are a super student. You want to understand everything the first time and get frustrated when you don't. I always tell the story about when you were in preschool trying to learn to write your name. You were having trouble writing your k in Kate. You got pretty upset and told Mrs. Veronica that you would just be Ella. HA!!! You learned your k quickly after a little practice as you do everything.
           Right now you are playing Upward, taking piano, and taking cheer and tumble. I think you really love all of it. You just won first place in the Reading Fair which was very exciting.
          I love you so much, and I want you to be so happy!

Basketball !!!!

Ella Kate is loving playing Upward. It is such a great program. I have been amazed at how well she is doing. It is really hard to get pictures especially with my camera, but I did manage to capture a few.

Not much to report this weekend. We are out of school tomorrow again...I am hoping to get some things done. :)

More Christmas

Today there was still much snow and ice on the ground, but we had school!  It was just soooooo cold. Anyway back to Christmas morning......

We awoke to a beautiful blanket of SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We couldn't decide whether to play with our toys or go outside. So we played and opened presents and then went outside.

                                      I never did find matching pjs this Christmas.
                                      I decided I had to get over it. Emma Klaire is wearing
                                     last years and Ella kate was going to try to wear hers, but
                                    I forgot to remind her change. Oh well....I got over it. HA!

Christmas afternoon we went to Gran-Gran's house for Christmas.(We had it at her house.)
I am so thankful that we got to have it at her house again. We have always had Christmas at Gran-Gran's!

Christmas night we drove (with it snowing) to Matt's house to celebrate his birthday. We had yummy soup and a great time..No pictures :(

Snow Day #3

Well we enjoyed another day at home playing in the snow!  We have to go back to school tomorrow @ 8:00. Kids 8:30. Sooooooooooooooooo back to the routine. It has been awesome. I needed this break, and we have made some priceless memories.
